Azlans smash Belfast to Paris Virtual Cycle Fundraiser

Rugby is more than just a sport to us; it’s a force for inclusivity, diversity, and community.
- Gareth

The Azlans recently hosted a virtual cycle fundraiser from Belfast to the Stade de France in Paris, home of the Rugby World Cup finals. The team cycled an equivalent distance of 520 miles in 1 day and raised an incredible £2,785 for the club, smashing the original target!

The fundraiser was a test of stamina and teamwork, but all participants were determined to cross the finish line. We were supported by a team of players who helped to organise the event and keep everyone motivated.

The Azlans are excited to partner with Ulster University for this fundraiser. “Rugby is more than just a sport to us; it’s a force for inclusivity, diversity, and community,” said Gareth Anderson, Head Coach at the Azlans. “We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in sports and experience the benefits of teamwork and camaraderie.”

We would like to thank all of their supporters, colleagues and friends who donated, shared our fundraising page and pulled together to help make the event a success. We are grateful for the generosity and kindness of our community, which helps them to continue the work we do in the wider community.

The virtual cycle fundraiser was a huge success bringing the team together and affirms the team's commitment to inclusivity and diversity in sport.
