Ophir RFC's Give It A Try 2026 programme has officially come to a close, and what a fantastic way to finish the season.

Our final evening ended with pizza, presentation certificates and a special visit from current Ulster Women's player Lucy Thomson, who kindly joined us to celebrate the achievements of this year's participants.

Lucy presented completion certificates before sharing her own rugby journey, explaining how the game has helped her develop as a player, build lifelong friendships and create unforgettable experiences. Her story was both inspiring and motivating for the girls as they begin their own rugby journeys.

Throughout the Give It A Try 2026 programme, every participant showed incredible commitment, enthusiasm and determination.

In just a few short weeks, the group progressed all the way to full-contact rugby, a fantastic achievement that highlights the hard work of both the players and coaches.

We are excited to welcome many of these girls back next season as new Ophir RFC players and look forward to watching them continue to develop within the club.
