All teams making a cautious return to rugby.

Ophir RFC have finalised their plans, in line with IRFU guidelines to in preparation to full contact rugby. As per the guidelines the club is taking a phased approach over the coming weeks and any changes will be communicated to all our members.

The club has appointed Robert Press as COVID officer and will liaise with Ulster branch and ensure all Ophir teams meet the required safety measures put in place to protect players, coaches, volunteers and families.

We have now entered the non-contact phase and the following restrictions will be in place until further notice.

  • The club house including toilet and shower facilities will be unavailable. We ask all players to come changed ready for training.
  • 2m distance must be observed at all times
  • Only a limited number of players will be allowed on training grounds. This differs for each team.
  • Please bring you own water bottle and hand sanitiser including your own ball if needed.
  • Strict hand hygiene and cough etiquette must be observed at all times.

For the duration, teams will focus on fitness and non contact skills-based activities.

We ask all players to adhere to the guidelines, practise safely and respect the safety of all our members.
