Academy RFC 29 - 12 Ophir RFC
Both sides were waiting for this highly anticipated fixture, and it showed from the first whistle with a high intensity demonstrated by both sides. Once again, Ophir made a brave start, carrying well and building up the pitch swiftly with great attacking promise. An unfortunate injury to a key Ophir player, Lewis Brown, led to a stoppage in the game, just before Karl Buick made the pressure pay, as he carried the ball 30 meters to run in his first try of the season. Academy grew into the game, building their attack off a solid defence. Back Liam Cosgrave scored a great try shortly before the end, but it proved a conciliation as Ophir logged yet another defeat.
